Austria’s capital community volunteers deliver fact-based drug education with young people across the city

VIENNA, Austria — 23 December 2025 — Community volunteers linked to “A Drug-Free eu news channel World” Austria are expanding outreach in Vienna, engaging youth, families and educators through street information stands and event-based activities. The Vienna effort is led by Gabriele Toker, a local organiser, the initiative relies on “Truth About Drugs” materials to provide straightforward information on drug risks, with particular attention to cannabis, described by public monitoring bodies as the most widely used illicit drug in Europe. Organisers say, the Vienna activities focus on early prevention, including at large public gatherings such as the Donauinselfest, while also supporting teachers seeking prevention tools for schools.
